An independent research website for readers who want the source, the date, and the limits of what is publicly known.

What Riot Updates is

Riot Updates independently curates histories, timelines, status trackers, and explainers about Riot Games, its products, ownership, and adjacent entertainment. It aims to make underlying records easy to inspect and uncertainty hard to miss.

No affiliation or endorsement Riot Updates is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or operated by Riot Games, Tencent, or any other company, person, product, or organization covered on the site. Names and trademarks are used only to identify the subjects discussed.

Editorial purpose

Make the evidence usable

A long source list is not enough. The useful work is matching each statement to the right record, keeping unlike metrics separate, and showing readers where a confident answer ends.

Evidence firstClaims should point to inspectable records, not circular summaries.
Dates attachedFacts that can change carry a cutoff, access date, or last-checked date.
Uncertainty visibleSilence, inference, allegation, and confirmed outcome are not collapsed into one label.
Corrections welcomedBetter records should improve the public page rather than be defended away.

Current coverage

The initial public collection focuses on Riot Games: its corporate history, Tencent ownership, major products, project status, and a dated event timeline. Coverage may expand only when the available evidence can support a useful, maintainable page.

The controlled research package contains useful source and register material, but it is not complete in its current delivered form and its validation record is stale. Public pages are therefore independently curated from the material that can be inspected. Riot Updates does not treat a draft, claim row, or automated output as proof.

The research byline

“Riot Updates Research Desk” is the site’s editorial byline. It identifies the independent publisher of the page; it does not claim affiliation with Riot Games or imply a professional credential. Individual contributor biographies are not currently published, so readers should assess the work through its sources, methods, and correction record rather than an unsupported authority claim.

Independence

Editorial conclusions are not delegated to a covered company or to automation. If a material financial, employment, personal, sponsorship, or other conflict affects a page, it should be disclosed where readers encounter the relevant work. Paid placement, if ever accepted, must be labeled and must not determine a factual conclusion.

Read the standards

The methodology explains how evidence is weighed. The source library exposes the controlled bibliography and supplemental checks. The editorial policy covers corrections, conflicts, and the limited role of automation.
