What is Wild Rift's current status?

Wild Rift is still receiving updates. The September 29 Patch 7.3a notes cover champion and item balance, jungle changes, Turret Plating and AAA ARAM. This supports ongoing development; it does not measure the current audience or prove every regional server is online right now.

“Dead” mixes four different questions Game updates, active players, publisher-run esports, and platform expansion can move independently. Wild Rift's global esports structure contracted, but patches continued. Downloads, spending estimates, queue anecdotes, and tournament results are not interchangeable with monthly active users.

Four evidence lanes

What is known—and what is not

Each answer uses the narrowest evidence available instead of turning one public signal into a verdict about the whole game.

Game service

Updates continue

Riot published Patch 7.3a on September 29, 2026. Its notes say content releases throughout the patch; individual features may have different availability dates.

Player count

No reliable current MAU total

Riot's annual letter discussed the product's trajectory without disclosing a current monthly-active-user figure. Public store installs and third-party estimates use different methods.

Current evidence:L007L008
Consoles

Announced, not released

Riot included consoles in the 2019 announcement. Riot's 2022 plans said Wild Rift would not reach consoles that year, and 2024 reporting said a console version was not then in development. No reviewed source establishes a later release or permanent cancellation.

Esports

Restructured, not equivalent to shutdown

Riot moved from its original global publisher-run model toward Asia-centered and community competition. That institutional history cannot establish total game activity.

Status changes

What could change this answer

A major Wild Rift patch, Riot service-status announcement, platform release or cancellation statement, material app-store change, or first-party audience disclosure could change this answer. An unchanged rumor does not.
